A group of Year 12 musicians from Kingsdale Foundation School visited Southwark primary schools John Donne and Hollydale last month. The musicians performed a varied programme of musical pieces that included a classical piece written especially for the occasion, a rock composition, the popular song Valerie, and a jazz standard. The musicians then shared their experiences with the young audience through a Q&A.
This was a pilot project aiming to connect secondary school musicians with primary schools in Southwark. Southwark Music hopes to create more connections amongst schools across Southwark in the near future.
