Recent highlights include Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester at the Salzburg Festival (Prokofiev 5) and an arrangement of Die Entführung aus dem Serail with the Young Singers Academy in the same Festival, as well as his debut with the Ulster Orchestra and a contemporary project with LPO Future Firsts as part of 'The Rest is Noise'. Alongside his commitments in Los Angeles, forthcoming engagements include returns to London Symphony Orchestra and Bristol Ensemble as well as debuts with BBC Scottish Symphony, New Japan, Russian National and Nagoya Philharmonics and Vancouver Symphony. Ben also returns to Camerata Salzburg, Ulster and Scottish Chamber Orchestras.
Ben made his BBC Proms debut conducting Tansy Davies’ Composers Portrait and has worked with London Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, London Philharmonic Future Firsts and Scottish Chamber Orchestra education projects. He conducted the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the St Magnus Festival and was Assistant Conductor for the Discover Dudamel project at the Barbican in March 2013.
Ben is mentored by Sian Edwards. He was also mentored by Sir Colin Davis until the great conductor's death last year. In Summer 2013 he was featured in BBC Music Magazine as: "Rising Star: Great Artist of Tomorrow".
