The David Idowu Choir
Are you aged between 13 and 19?
Would you like to be part of an exciting new community choir?
Southwark Music Service is working in partnership with the David Idowu Foundation, founded in loving memory of David Olawale Idowu who lost his life to knife crime in 2008. The aim is to form a choir that brings together the most talented singers from the different schools across the borough in his memory. David was stabbed in the park in front of his home and died twenty days later. Even more tragically, it was later discovered that the only reason David was targeted was because of his school.
Guest conductor for this course and our Christmas show is Mark De-Lisser. The core vocal team will be led by Laura Howe with Daniel Vincent and Kwabena Adjepong working in a variety of musical styles. The choir will bring together singers from schools across Southwark.
